HEY !!!
Have you heard the news that Shaun Tilley is doing a weekly 208-show since January '99? If you have missed that get the details.

Hi there !

My name is Herbert Pjede and I would like to tell you the story of RADIO LUXEMBOURG. To be precise: the english service of 208.

It does not happen that often that a station is shut down and stops existing. Maybe that is one of the reasons why so many people all around the world still recall RADIO LUXEMBOURG as one of the best stations of all times. And indeed very very many would give their last shirt if this would enable the return of 208 today.

But: The mighty CLT stopped it and noone but CLT can relive RADIO LUXEMBOURG somewhen and somewhere. But taking a close look at reality and the situation on todays broadcasts market in Europe will bring all these dreams to an end.

So the only thing we can do is remember the good old RADIO LUXEMBOURG when it broadcasted on AM, FM and finally via the ASTRA-satellite. And that's what I have made this homepage for.

But before you take the jump into those great memories allow me to say "thank you" to some guys all around the world who have sent me documents, informations, photographs and last not least jingles and so made this homepage finally possible. You will also find some of them in the LINKS-section later on. They are :

Tim Arnold, Alan Beech, Norman Barrington, Remco Dolman,
Jim Harpur, Eivind Motland, Dick Offringa, Roberth Walve
and Pete Wilson.

And especially I want to thank the former stuff members of 208 who helped me a lot in collecting all the informations :

Jeff Graham - Rodney Collins - Mike Knight - John Catlett

Sorry if I have forgotten someone; tell me and I will add you to the list.

And now Ladies and Gentlemen !
Join the feeling of 208/RADIO LUXEMBOURG and relive the story.

Herbert Pjede / 1997-1999
